In current society a debate on a controversial topic is rocking the nation. The debate of the Right to Die has been put back on the spotlight after an advocate for the cause made the choice to end her own life after being diagnosed with a terminal disease. The Right to Die is a campaign which supports every individual's choice to die when faced with a terminal disease. A specific form is called Physician Assisted Suicide which was the way the advocate chose to die. A Physician Assisted Suicide is when a physician prescribes a competent patient a lethal dose of drugs so he/she may use to intentionally end their own life whenever they see fit. As a shock a large sum of the public had no idea what any of this meant which leads to misinformation. The right to Die has shed light into the dilemma many terminally ill patients face, a death sentence. There are currently 3 states that allow PAS which is Oregon, Vermont, and Washington. Though these states may allow it but there are strict guidelines and requirements the client seeking help must pass. In all three states you must be of legal age and a resident in their state. Which means if the person lived in California they would have to move to one of these states. They would have to have a terminal disease and they have 6 or less months to live, and have to be capable to make their own choices for him or herself. The physician must be certified to carry out their job . In Vermont the patient must have a Health Care provider and patient can decide to stop at anytime. The client must be capable to communicate with their physician about their situation before the illness takes
