Imagine sitting in pain all day. No way out. Nothing relieves the pain you suffer with. Today you were diagnosed terminally-ill and all that can be done is supportive care. There is no reason to live knowing your painful days are numbered. Wouldn't you want a way out? With physician-assisted suicide, you could finally have a way out of your never ending pain. Physician-assisted suicide should be legal for terminally-ill patients.
Physician-assisted suicide is defined by the voluntary termination of one's own life by administration of a lethal substance with the direct or indirect assistance of a physician. Of course you can take him home and try to live out the last few months of his life together. Many would see that as inhumane though. Forcing your pet to live for your benefit when they are in pain just because you don’t want to lose them seems wrong. Most would do the right thing and put their dog down so they don’t have to live in pain day in and day out. How is this dog's life any different than a human beings life. We want to end the suffering our pets endure but we allow the people just like us to sit in pain and suffer when they literally have nothing to look forward to but death. No person of faith or even a person with good moral standards would advocate for a purposely ending the life of a living being. It seems like common sense to know that ending someone's life is murder and therefore morally wrong, but isn't it just as awful to allow, or force, someone to live the rest of their short life in excruciating pain wishing everyday that this day will be their last. Using morality and faith in this argument contradicts itself. No person of faith or strong morality would want to watch a loved one sit in a hospital bed, not being able to eat or sleep due to the pain they're faced with. Allowing someone to end their life as painlessly as possible would weigh less on a persons conscience than forcing them to live when they just want the pain to
