The NFL decided to take to schools in order to reach kids during the biggest chunk of their day. They worked alongside Youth Minds Inspired- YMI- to create “educational” activities for elementary-aged students that incorporated football. In the documentary “Football High,” Rachel Dretzin explores the world of high school football in Louisiana, using various rhetorical devices to convey the emotional and physical intensity of the sport. Dretzin uses hyperbole and repetition to emphasize the significance of football in the lives of its players and community. Hyperbole is employed to create an exaggerated sense of the importance of the sport, such as when a coach states that "football is life." (30:28) This statement emphasizes the role that football plays in the lives of players and their families, highlighting the sense of identity and purpose it provides. Repetition is also used to drive home the emotional weight of the sport.
Football is a very popular sport not only in American high schools and colleges, but also in the entire country of the United States. Is playing high school football worth the risk and harm inflicted to high school football players? This is the main question raised by the author, Raymond Schroth, in the article “Abolish High School Football.” In this article, Schroth talked about the disadvantages and harms of playing high school football to the players. Schroth argued that high school football should be abolished because it had contributed more harmful effects than benefits to football players.
In conclusion, air pressure has a direct influence on the distance that the ball will travel when thrown. The hypothesis stated that if pressure is added to the football, then the distance the ball projects will increase when distance is a function of pressure. Based on the data that was collected from the experiment, the hypothesis was supported. When the football had more air inside, it went the farthest distance compared to the other two pressures that data was collected from.
I am doing a debate on whether or not football punters deserve more credit than they get. I think the punters definitely deserve more credit they are always overlooked and they do the same amount of practice as the rest of the football team. i think that punters are overlooked in football because they just play when they punt and to score a field goal. what most people don 't consider is that they practice with everybody else they are also on the field as much as some of the players.
When it comes to the famine in Ethiopia, how did the government make it worse? In the 1980s, a famine in Ethiopia occurred and was one of the worst events of the twentieth century. Ethiopia’s food shortage and hunger crisis led to at least one million deaths. A question asked a lot is why the famine of 1983 to 1985 was so disastrous. One of the main focuses was because of the government's actions and programs.
My project is about how temperature and air pressure affect the distance a football can be thrown. When the air is warmer the molecules move faster and spread apart, therefore making the air pressure lower and making the ball lighter. But when the air is cooler the molecules move slower and move closer together, making the air pressure higher making the ball
To decrease the number of concussions a year the National Football League must issue more rules and better quality equipment. Despite the tackling and wanting to " knock out " an opponent of the other team, football players need to transition their mindsets to a different objective. Instead of wanting to hurt the opponent or lay them out, just focus on getting them down. Football players must have the mindset to keep their healthy bodies and prevent injuries so that they can continue to entertain, perform, but to mostly importantly win. Football without concussions and even injuries can make the sport more enjoyable for the parent, wives, and children of the players.
Football, although fun and exciting, plays an immense role in many long term health issues especially for people who start at a young age. The sport’s injuries include long term health issues such as chronic encephalopathy, ALS, Alzheimer’s disease, and dementia; it also can be a reason for domestic violence, and on some occasions, unnecessary death. There are many factors that can persuade parents to believe that football is a safer sport than it was before, but the long term effects of a simple injury from the sport outweighs it all. In Ed Riley’s article, High School football’s benefits outweigh risks, Riley talks about the concerns that any parent would have when it comes to their child playing football.
This paper studies the evolution of football equipment and how each piece of equipment has changed the game. It begins with a discussion of the origins of American football and its storied history. The second section then explores how each piece of protective equipment is used and how they have positively and negatively affected the sport. The third section examines the fact that injuries that have increased despite the evolution of different equipment and will focus, most importantly, on the helmet and concussions. It continues by looking at the ways the NFL is attempting to make football safer for its players.
One of the other examples of physics that is used in lacrosse is momentum, momentum plays an important role in lacrosse because without it we wouldn’t be able to pass, shoot, or catch the ball. The way that we change the momentum when we are playing is by the amount of push and pull that we use on our sticks, this causes how much energy is transferred into the head of our lacrosse sticks which then turns into velocity and the more momentum we have the high velocity we put into our passes, catches, and
