Masters of the World of Art: Picasso vs Dali

Two of the world’s great artist who are famously well known and loved for the artwork they created throughout their lives. Though these artists lived and created great works of art during the early part of the twentieth century, each of them had a unique style that made their artwork one of a kind. At first Picasso was a mentor to Dali, however, they later became competitors in the world of art, but were always friends throughout their lives.
Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali started their careers painting artwork in Spain, however, their works have been enjoyed around the world. Both Picasso and Dali created beautiful works of art using the Cubism style of art which involved paintings with images that were disbursed in geometric shapes and various colors. These paintings were creations that amazed the community and made both artist very successful. Each artwork is mounted on a base made of translucent rock crystal and bears a gold Dalí signature. These jeweled sculptures arise from Dalí’s most important iconographic and surrealist images seen in diverse artistic mediums including paintings, bronze sculptures and graphic works.
Dali challenged the imagination of his age by deconstructing classical imagery and reassembling it with the symbolic imagery of the subconscious. The modernists and later Picasso deconstructed traditional imagery and left nothing but chaos in its place. To understand the struggle between the two Surrealist trends they embodied, one should understand the historical context in art and science that led to their clash of styles
