The Pink-toed Tarantula Pink-toed tarantulas are a very interesting type of spider. These types of spider are native along the Caribbean, Brazil, and Costa Rica. The pink-toed tarantula is the most common type of tarantula, but it is not the biggest. The pink-toed tarantula has very interesting ways of surviving their habitats. The pink-toed tarantulas have many abilities to survive.
Pink-toed tarantulas are very good climbers, and it can protect itself but having that good ability. “The pink-toed tarantula even makes its bed high up in the trees” (Paul Hillyard 69). This is important for the reason that if the tarantula is being attacked and its predator cannot climb, then the pink-toed tarantula will be safe. “The pink-toed tarantula is also very good a blending because of its color” (Hillyard 69). The blending helps them because they are black with brown spots which kind of looks like a tree. So if a bird is flying around it will be hard for it to see the spider. Those are some of the abilities that the pink-toed tarantulas use to survive in their habitat.

Also, most female spiders are larger than male spiders (London’s 200’s Web of Life). Female spiders live longer and are stronger, which makes the male tarantulas look weak. The pink-toed female tarantula can grow up to five inches or thirteen centimeters while the male tarantula can grow up to three and a half inches or nine centimeters.
