Pizza hut, one of the leading pizza fast food chain in India was one of the first entrant for pizza in India and was followed by Dominos. Even after so many years the company has been able to maintain its premium image.

HISTORY
Pizza hut was founded in 1958 by Dan and Frank Carney in Wichita, Kansas. When a friend suggested opening a pizza parlor--then a rarity--they agreed that the idea could prove successful, and they borrowed $600 from their mother to start a business with partner John Bender. Renting a small building at 503 South Bluff in downtown Wichita and purchasing second hand equipment to make pizzas, the Carneys and Bender opened the first Pizza Hut restaurant; on opening night, they gave pizza away to encourage community interest. A year later, in 1959, Pizza Hut was incorporated in Kansas, and Dick Hassur opened the first franchise unit in Topeka, Kansas. During its early years Pizza hut grew on aggressive marketing. The Carney brothers bought out the interest held by bender in 1962. In the year 1972 corporate strategy was introduced in the company after much consultation. Its first priority was increasing the sales and the profits of the company. The second priority was building a strong financial base.
Pizza hut opened its outlet in India in the year 1996 in Bangalore. Today the company has 95 outlets across 24 cities in India.
As of 2015 the company has over 15000 outlets worldwide.
