Group Leadership and Conflict Summary The key aspect that was discussed in my Team group interaction was about the two required videos for this week’s assignment, “Planning a Playground”, and “The Politics of Sociology”. My Team intent of the discussion was clear and understandable. The team I was assigned to consisted of 6 members including myself. There were two other Team members who were very prepared for group discussion and they were Tammy and Maurice. These two team members engaged in discussion on both videos that were assigned. Those include, emailing other team members who did not participate or interact in the team. Also, I will exhaust all other possibilities in the near future to make sure my other team members understand what is required of them to participate as a team assignment. With these strategies this will ensure that the Team I am assigned to fully participates in discussion to have a much better result in the completion of our assignment. Anything is possible if you strive for a positive outcome and engage other team members to strive for goal accomplishment. He managed to keep conflict down by keeping everyone focused on the main goal when he told the team members to step back from their feelings and focus on what’s important. Steve clearly showed his leadership skills on how to keep conflict from arising. However, there are people who were born leaders as well as taught and trained to be a leader. Steve can continue to advance his skills as a leader by encouraging his team members to expand their ideas. Other ways he can do better as a team leader is continuing to have constructive feedback on reaching their goals as a team.
