Until Bronfenbrenner (1994), developmental psychologists couldn’t get out their comfort zone concerning the strange activities of children and their development. Bronfenbrenner however proposed a theory that had a huge impact on this matter. This theory was based on the effect of environmental factors, which the development occurs, what he called ‘Ecological models’ (pg. 38). He divided this topic into five subsystems: Microsystems, Mesosystems, Exosystems, Macrosystems, Chronosystems. Characters: The main character of this story is of course is Brain. He is dynamic because Brain demonstrates perseverance by surviving alone. This statistic supports the theory that all experiences and outside stimuli an infant is exposed to greatly impacts the infant’s future brain growth and development. I believe that the infant’s experiences and outside stimuli must be appropriate and meaningful in order to insure that their future brain growth and development is typical and sufficient. An example that supports my belief is the acquirement of delayed speech in a child. According to the University of Michigan, delayed speech in a child can be caused by extreme environmental deprivation.

The influence of a parent on their child is extremely important, and a child’s development can move quickly, especially when they are young. Sometimes children are born into a bad home, and this can lead to setbacks and delays in a child’s growth.
