Throughout history, scholars have argued and study of what can drive a society to success or failure. Many have realized the different factors that contribute to the downfall of a State. However some have recognized its upbringings. Plato theorized that a State depicted in the excerpt from Book II, from The Republic by Plato, is a place that is or in the process of being developed into a society that is idealistic and just. This statement will be validated by the explanation of the logic used in the creation of the state, the correlation between the society and the individual, and Utopian goals and the nature of justice seen throughout the State. Utopian goals is a place or society that is free of conflict and unhappiness. This concept of these goals can only be seen if the nature of justice is also present within the State. That nature of justice is based on an idea that declares that everything is fair, if everything is working all needs are met. Looking back on what a State is, which is a group of people that are gathered together that has formed a relationship that is composed of a group or individuals doing their own duties to meet the demand of the society. All the different parts of the Utopian goals and the nature of justice fits within the definition of that State. The goals include the belief that a place should be free of conflict. If there was one section of this State that could experience conflict, it would be the part where the society is composed of different duties. If there was a lack of organization in who gets what duty, then a conflict may arise. Also, if this conflict effects negatively on the production rate of the supply for the demand, then a conflict will additionally be present between the society and the individual. Nature of justice is seen here because it would not be fair if one person had the full responsibility one duty, while the responsibility of another duty is broken up among a group of people. The nature of justice also states that everything must be working in order for it to be fair. An example may include a scenario where all tool production ceased. This would cause an unfairness because this will cause the individual who had the responsibility using the tools to produce something to also have the responsibility of making the tools.
