Eagle Football Team Prepares For Upcoming Season Early Sunday morning, the Colby Eagle football team flocked to the high school to depart to Hastings, Nebraska for their annual summer preparation camp. Coaches Rees McKinney, Matt Sims, Brad Wildeman, and Travis Betz herded their 23 players into three suburbans, and after shooing mischievous junior Jordan Schippers out of their trunk, began their three hour trek to the camp. Lasting for three days, the camp had the Eagles spending approximately eight hours per day running through drills, studying their offense and defense, and facing off against other teams. Out of the 13 teams that participated, Colby was the only Kansas squad out of the cohort. On top of this, they were a bit smaller
In the play Appropriate that was put on at Colorado State University, is a play about the Lafayette's, an dysfunctional family that gets mixed up in racial situation. The purpose of putting on this play was to show how with all the racial tension going on around the world, everyone has their only views on what happens. This also showed how being put in to situation, like the Lafayette’s were put in, make it a lot harder to deal with. During the play they show how different people look and react are racism. The director was showing how different nationalities and religions, try to deal with situation even if it all blows up.
The event was the YMCA event, and my sub-group and I worked at the station called, “Move it, Move it, Move it.” The YMCA event is at San Jose, where different age groups at the YMCA facility where they can come join the event that my team and I created. I would like to start with what was so shocking for me was that this was not my first encounter with the Laramie Project, it wasn’t my second or third either; I have read and analyzed scenes from this play, discussed it in two other classes, I had the honor to meet two members of the original cast that interviewed the town, and I still had to let some of the pain of these people words and lives wash over me through tears before I was able to start this analyzes. This play that Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project created was bold and dangerous and they knew this was something that had to be told, something that still rings true in a world and society that still has leaps and bounds to go before we can honor Matthew 's name and every other named and nameless person ignorantly and hatefully ripped from this earth for something they could not change about themselves, nor should they. I would like to analyze the fathers monologue before he tells Aaron Mckinney that Matthew would not have wanted him sentenced to death; even if that was exactly what he would have wanted to happen. More specifically the line “...he wore braces from the age thirteen until the day he died.” This line was so poignant for me because it really represented how young Matthew really was, and
we took tours of lots of beautiful cities. of course our children came along but they were busy on their little new phones we bought them. trust me
The Long Christmas Ride Home by Paula Vogel is a play about a family of five, and their experience on Christmas day, as well as the future of the three children. I believe that this was meant to take place in the early-sixties to the late-seventies because of the mother’s housewife role in the play, and the way the grandfather would accept the mistreatment of his own daughter from her husband, but would stand up for the mistreatment of his grandson—a clearly sexist view that would not be accepted in today’s society. Another hint about the time period is that Stephen died from a disease contracted during sex, one that eventually killed him. This makes me think that this was before or during the AIDS epidemic. The children are Rebecca, age twelve,
When she meets up with Mark and Vanessa, her father comes with her since they will need to draw up lawful papers, yet makes a remark when they arrive that aggregates up his sentiments on the circumstance, “Thanks for having me and my irresponsible daughter over to your house.” Juno responds to Vanessa by saying “Wicked pick in the penny saver by the way. Way more classy than those people with the fake woods behind them. I mean who do they think they are
When thinking about the production The Long Christmas Ride Home, I can say that I have very mixed feelings. On one hand, I don’t really like watching theatre productions that aren’t musicals. When a production is not a musical, I find myself drifting off into boredom at times. However, The Long Christmas Ride Home definitely kept me hooked and was unlike any production that I have ever seen. While watching the Long Christmas Ride Home, that biggest idea that I could take away from it was that I really liked the plot of the production.

As the bus pulled into the campground for the first time, I was worrisome about what was ahead for the next five days. But when I left, my mind was filled with endless knowledge and my heart was completed. Those five days, although very short, allowed me to grow beautifully into the person that I am now. The experience that was gained gave me the idea of the open-minded person that I intend to be.
Come Outside to Play: The Need for the Revitalization of Parks and Recreations In Berks County, has played a pivotal role in the lives of families for generations. I can remember going to park when I was younger and having the time of my life. Flying kites with my dad, going swimming, and craft days on Friday. There was never a dull moment and it gave me some of my best childhood memories. However, the recent downturn in economics has left many parks and recreations departments feeling a blow to their budgets.

Four years ago we went to Disney World just my family and me, we had so much fun that we decided we would go again in four years. We started planning the next trip almost immediately; we were all so excited to go back. It was not going to be just us this time; my aunt and uncle’s family would be coming with us this time. I remember waiting those four years, and they felt like forever. When it finally came time to start packing (three days in advance) we made sure to prepare for what we did not last time.

For example, Sasse views travel as, “...an opportunity to help our kids to get out of their comfort zones, learn to see different social and economic arrangements.” (Sasse 18). Ben Sasse views travel simply as a way to get out of one’s own bubble to learn about the various living situations that people, even a neighborhood away, experience. Therefore, although traveling is not the only way for a kid to be made aware of the different circumstances that people around the world experience on a daily basis, it is one of the most effective ways as they will be able to experience them firsthand. This sentiment holds true in my own life as well as for many others.
