I’m not going to lie, I found this production confusing and did not truly understand what was going on, but maybe the true meaning of this production was up to audience for interpretation. This factor led the production to be appropriate for the audience. With this creative freedom it creates a great play for anyone, because the person is responsible for what they learn from the production. Therefore, there is no specific meaning other than the one the audience member creates for themselves. It is more of a “what do you believe was going on?”
Furthermore, this play may have been a bit confusing to the audience and it may have not held the attention of the audience well. However, there may have been those that really enjoyed this play. If this was the audience’s first experience with this kind of play, it may have been a negative experience. I would recommend this play to a more mature audience, because it was such a complex play, however it is rather simple if the person can get beyond the complexity of it. The director’s interpretation truly stood out to me. Since the play had a lot of creative freedom; therefore, the director created his own aspects of the play. The director’s interpretation was quite fascinating; his use of the stage was simple but it made it seem as is the set design was more complex than it was understood to be. The set the director designed allowed reinforced his interpretation well, for it brought more attention to the actors because of its simplicity. The acting was a factor that stood out to be the most.
