There is roughly 70,000 players that play professional baseball. This includes the MLB, MLB’s minor league teams, and independent baseball teams. I believe that having all the different levels of baseball is a great idea. Having all these different leagues allow you to, develop your baseball skills, make money while playing something you love, and get a chance to play in the MLB. The main reason why there is tons of different leagues of baseball, is because many players need to develop there skills at lower levels before reach the Majors Leagues. While playing in the independent leagues or the minor league systems, you learn better baseball IQ. Having a high baseball IQ is crucial in big and defining moments of games. A high baseball IQ comes from playing many, many games and learning from mistakes and successes. Playing in the minor leagues allows you to develop your skills as a baseball player. Many people would not play baseball if there were not going to be paid, especially if it was just for them to play in the minor leagues. While playing in the minor leagues and for the independent leagues, these players get payed for playing. This is huge benefit of playing baseball in the minor league systems. Another great reason for these minor league systems is, many people get a chance to play and possibly make it big in the Major Leagues. If they only had the Major Leagues, some of the good players that are in the MLB today, would not be there. They are given a chance to prove themselves’ in the minor leagues to possibly play in the Major Leagues, which is everyones dream. Along with that, these players get to play a game that they love.
