Political Ideology
A political ideology can be best described as close-knit sets of values or beliefs that establish a basic philosophy about a government. Liberal, conservative, populist, and libertarian are the four main ideologies in politics. Based on my beliefs, I consider myself a libertarian. A libertarian is an individual who believes that the government should have a limited role in economic and moral/personal issues: liberal for morals and conservative for economy.
The proper role of government in upholding traditional values should be absolutely limited. If the government regulates personal and or moral issues, we lose our sense of liberty. Abortion, for example, should be an individual right for every woman; as a free society, …show more content…

Sanders being my top candidate at an 87%, Clinton following up with 77%, O'Malley with 58%, Webb with 47%, and Pataki with a 34%. My voter profile matches my quiz results on the most part with the exception of George Pataki who is a Republican. My voter profile also matches my candidate preferences quite well; Bernie Sanders is my top candidate and is the individual I most relate to with political views. Overall, I have the same views as my top five candidates. For example, they all have the same general views on immigration and minorities as I do (affirmative action). The five candidates are pro-choice, but suggest other routes one can take and suggest limitations or "rules" for abortion (which I agree with). George Pataki, being my only Republican candidate, has the same views with me in reference to budget and economy- to not raise taxes and cut spending. However, in reference to the LGBT community, he opposes same-sex marriage and believes that it should have been left to state decision.
