In chapter four of the novel Wormwood Forest by Mary Mycio, Mycio explains the aftermath of the Chernobyl nuclear reaction, and how it had changed the ecosystem drastically. Chernobyl was a nuclear power plant in Pripyat, Ukraine that was operational during the time of the Cold War. This power plant had a sudden power surge in its reactor Unit 4, which resulted in a devastating incident. This caused large amounts of radioactive materials to be released into the air, and causing a level seven nuclear disaster, the highest level possible. After reading this chapter, it made me consider the bombs dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima 70 years ago, and the level seven nuclear disaster in Fukushima, Japan.

Copper is a chemical element with the symbol Cu and atomic number twenty-nine. It is also a solid at room temperature. Copper was most likely the first element ever manipulated by humans. In fact, humans discovered copper during the Paleolithic era. Copper was also very important during the copper and bronze age.
During WWII there were many deaths and terrible battles but the worst of all of them was America dropping the Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This tactic of bombing a city was the wrong decision by America, it was completely barbaric and was an act of total war something no country should ever use. In 1945, when it became open knowledge that President Truman and his cabinet planned on using atomic weapons against Japan, a group of scientists who had worked on the project that led to the Atomic bomb, decided to protest. With Leo Szilard in the lead, an appeal was written to the President. Politicians and scientists are in favor of more research to found out answers because they both share the responsibility for the nuclear waste. There are many discuss nuclear waste whether you are pro-nuke or anti-nuke and how dangerous could be.
