The Infamous Paul Bernardo Max Myronuk PF 331 H01 Criminology Lorne Clifford Oct, 19th, 2015 How do you define a serial killer? According to the FBI handbook it’s a person who has killed on at least three separate occasions, with a break in between the murders. They are usually derived from the compulsion and lack of self-control that developed due to a troubled upbringing or a mental disorder of sorts. Often there is also a sexual element to the acts, and in between the acts they usually act quite normal. (Mrjamesryancom, 2015)

The picture to the right is a photograph of John Paul Jones, created in the 1930s by the George Washington Bicentennial Commission. Jones died alone on July 18, 1792. Jones was then buried in St. Louis Cemetery, which was sold four years later. A century passed before there was a search party looking for the Jones’ remains.
I would like to attend Archbishop Mitty High School for many reasons. Some of those reasons are the community, the academics, and the athletics. After shadow days, the open house, and hearing from students one of the primary reasons to attend Archbishop Mitty High School is the community. The students and teachers really know and care about each other. There is so much love to go around for everyone.
Would you persecute the killer of your beloved family member if you had the choice? A mother did and she even forgave him. In Noyan, Iran, is where Samereh Alinejad forgave her son’s killer. In addition to this, she demonstrated an amazing act of mercy and has affected the whole community. My real life example of mercy is when this Iranian mom chooses not to persecute the killer.
Like Saint Augustine in the sixth century, Pope Gregory VII tried to reform the church in the eleventh century. During his first synod in 1074 C.E., Gregory " decreed that no one could be admitted to orders without a vow of celibacy and that the laity was forbidden to attend the services of an unchaste priest, deacon, or subdeacon. " This statement stemmed from the pope 's ability of his plenitudo potestatis or fullness of power. The pope would have this authority, because the position of the pope marks a lineage that is supposed to lead back to St. Peter, who the Christian religion was built on. If an individual did not follow Gregory 's decrees, they would receive escalating punishments.
About 20,000 people are murdered each year. Not many murders are forgiven. The murders forgiven are forgiven by people with mercy. One particular example of forgiveness would be Mary Johnson’s story. Mrs.Johnson forgave her son’s killer and became close friends with him.
King Solomon. King Josiah. King Hezekiah. These Godly men all had love and respect for the Lord. King Solomon was the wisest king that ever lived.
Pope Francis recalls an act of mercy similar to this one he said “Let us ... remember Peter: three times he denied Jesus, precisely when he should have been closest to him; and when he hits bottom he meets the gaze of Jesus who patiently, wordlessly, says to him: "Peter, don't be afraid of your weakness, trust in Me." Peter understands, he feels the loving gaze of Jesus and he weeps. How beautiful is this gaze of Jesus — how much tenderness is there! Brothers and sisters, let us never lose trust in the patience and mercy of
True mercy does not only consist of looking merciful or acting compassionately but also in its truest form; mercy occurs by overshadowing the presence of evil through the actions of love, compassion and the presence of God and the power of his presences is restored perceptually by human actions. To feel the true presence of God and all he has to offer, mercy is tangible act humankind can hear, touch and visually observe and through confirmation of these human senses, absorbed as truth. Mercy has an infinite place, especially in today's society, a society of convenience driven by greed for material objects produced technological advances. Humans are in a hurry to have what everyone else has, stuff! The pursuit of happiness no longer includes the idea of family, family values, spiritual values and many more that bond humankind together.
1) In the Rerum Novarum, Pope Leo says several things about socialism. Socialists believe that everyone should have equal rights and tried to make the poor more equal to the rich. “To remedy these evils the Socialists, working on the poor man’s envy of the rich, endeavor to destroy private property, and maintain that individual possessions should become the common property of all, to be administered by the state or municipal beings.” (pg.180) They thought that if they took away property form a person and gave it to the public, the poor will no longer envy the rich because they will have their equal share to whatever there is to enjoy that there was previously causing them to envious about the rich who had it. The socialists main goal was to
Merriam-Webster dictionary defines mercy as, “kindness or help given to people who are in a very bad or desperate situation”. Pope Francis recently declaered a Jubilee Year Of Mercy, and wants us to focus on being merciful towards others. When I was a little girl, I really didn 't understand what this meant. Why should I help someone when I 'm not going to get anything back? I thought.
In Shakespeare’s tragedy Hamlet, the main character and hero, Prince Hamlet, is unquestionably the most fascinating character. He is very complex and vigorous and, through his reflective monologue, we are gifted the majority of the thematic composition in Hamlet. Yet, Hamlet’s character has a large amount of opposition, both mentally and physically, in the drama. He is constantly out-numbered in his quest for answers, and he could not have done it by himself. Horatio, Hamlets best-friend and fellow school-mate at the University of Wittenberg, is the logical and collected one of the duo; he is the left side of the brain as Hamlet is the right, fastening him logically and keen mindedly to the harsh realities of the unforgiving world they lived
