real final copy The Hunger Games banned Lately, I’ve been reading a very popular book that has swept the nation, The Hunger Games written by Suzanne Collins. I’ve read the book before, although now I have read it again to investigate why such a popular book would be banned from school libraries all over our country. Banning books now days have been a very big issue in my opinion because libraries are banning the best books ever made for tiny little problems. This is causing kids to miss out on great books that they may not have enough money to buy, so school is the only place they can get books. By examining the offensive aspects of the book, I think that it's questionable to whether or not this book should have been banned in some schools. First off , I think that one of the reasons that the book has been banned is because of the violence. Although some kids can handle gory scenes of the book, some find themselves frightened because of some scenes.One line that gives a good example of this is where in one page it states, ”Taking the kids from our districts, forcing them to kill one another while we watch” . What they are meaning when the stated such, is that the detailed talk about the president, politics, and very well understood rules made the children feel like they were actually in the country Panem and were in the book. Because the book was told from Katniss's’ point of view also made you feel like you were in the actual book . The fact that the people were just normal like us makes us think that all of those things could happen to us, which scares multiple kids.
