By the mid 60s the formation of North American soccer leagues sparked an interest in soccer and led to the formation of teams at the elementary and high school levels. The sport of bowling was also enjoyed by men, women, and teens who played with friends or an organized leagues. Soccer has been around for a very long time and people have always played some type of soccer and probably not realized it. Soccer started in the 2nd and 3rd century. Soccer originally started in China. Even though soccer started in the 2nd and 3rd century in the us soccer started in 1967. Today there is a professional league for soccer called the Federation Internationale de Football Association or for short FIFA.
But we know England founded the first league in 1888.Soccer really became famous during the first World Cup in 1930. The World Cup is a tournament in which multiple teams play against each other until the last two teams are left and they hold the final. Also, the World Cup is held every four years.
