The Positive Effects of the Mongol Empire Today.
The Mongol empire was a fierce group of warriors who spread over Asia killing millions in their wake. In 1206 or the late 13th century Genghis Khan started the Mongol empire. This empire decimated land and killed many people. But was it worth it in the long run and what effects does the world have to live with today?The Mongol empire, although terrible, had some great positive effects on the world we know today such as cooling the earth and allowing trade to flourish, spreading ideas and new wealth. The mongol empire helped cool the earth and most likely prevented an ice age. Studies show that the earth has a state where it warms up then cools down forming Ice ages. When Genghis Khan killed these people it allowed trees to grow. (Hance) This in turn helped immensely to cool down the earth. (Hance) Without him global warming would have happened sooner and could have plunged us into another ice age. The action removed 700 million tonnes of carbon off the earth and allowed trees and bamboo to regrow, maybe even saving our ecosystem(Andrie). The world today would be completely different if it wasn't for Genghis Khan and the mongolian empire. Through their conquest the Mongol empire increased trade and sent items that were revolutionary throughout the world. These items include paper and paper money.
