The Impact of Obamacare Have you ever had Obamacare or experiment it? Today, health care in the United State is very expensive when compare it to other developed countries. Obamacare, also known as The Patient Protection and Affordable Care, is a United State healthcare law was passed in March, 2010 by President Barack Obama to reducing costs of health care, increasing the quality of health insurance and health care. Even though health care is available to all citizens, but there are many people without health insurance plans because of the rising cost. Obamacare not only have its positive and negative effects on people, but the United State economy as well.

President Obama promised to cut down on the cost of health care by $2500 for a typical family of four, but according to a health care expert, there would be an increase instead of reducing the number. During the presidency of Barack Obama, health care costs have been climbing fast as skyrockets. Moreover, the statement from President Obama stated that people who still have their health insurance care plans, they can still use it, which means that Obamacare will have effects on people who do not have Obamacare (para 20). Employees who are already have different insurances throughout entire nation, are questioning themselves whether if they should follow the health care offerings and pay for a fine or join Obamacare and then pay more for premium cost (para 21). Phillip Longman, who is a senior editor and Paul S. Hewitt is a vice president for research for Affordable Health Coverage, mentions in their article “After Obamacare” that Americans are still facing with so many problems with Obamacare such as the federal debt and the U.S. economy is still performing at lower level than it was expected (2017, para 1). There are countless people who still have no idea how big the burden of high debt and payroll tax since the Affordable Care Act passed down. In the article “Obamacare Refunds Go to Consumers”, Levey says that the Affordable Care act has helped insurance companies by reducing the expenses to become more productive (2012, para 3). As mentioned before, the goal of the Affordable Care Act is to cut down the inflation cost of health care, provide better quality and more effective health insurance or health care. Obamacare has helped their consumers saved “nearly $1.5 millions in 2011 as a result of rules in President Obama’s health care law that limit what insurance companies can spend on expenses unrelated to medical care, including profit” (para 1). In the article “The Health of Obamacare”, Kessler states that in 2014, about 10 million of uninsured people gained coverage and it also shortened the number of uninsured people from 45 millions to 35 millions in the U.S. (para 3). Many people who are uninsured, now can have lower cost of health insurance. For a short period of time from 2010 to 2012, the growth in health care spending has declined greatly, which is good for the economy. Joy Campbell points out a benefit of Obamacare in her article “Anthem rep: Health law has pros and cons” that children under 19 can stay in their parent’s insurance, they will get some benefits from the insurance until they are 26 years old (2012, para 9).
