Robert Kennedy was promoted to attorney general once his brother John F. Kennedy was elected president of the United States in 1960. Robert Kennedy made a special team or squad to try and take down Hoffa. He named this squad the “Get Hoffa Squad.” One day Hoffa called his wife from a payphone to say that he had been stood up by two business partners. After that call, he vanished.
Jimmy Hoffa, union leader of the teamsters, mysteriously vanished on July 30, 1975 after meeting with alleged crime boss Buster Wortman and never to be seen again. After many failed attempts to locate Hoffa, it is still an open case. The moral of the story - never meet with the mob. One of the most famous leaders in the American history, disappeared while meeting with crime lord Buster Wortman (A & E 1). Now everyone is still wondering, what exactly happened to Jimmy Hoffa.
The mafia wanted to kill Hoffa so he couldn’t run for presidency over the teamsters again and to help cover up information and secrets he had and knew about the mafia. In late July, 1982, Jimmy hoffa went missing. Based on an investigation in 2004 many people believe that Frank Sheeran killed Hoffa. He is one of a dozen suspects that has spoke publically and has admitted to committing the crime. Frank then shared his story.
"Jimmy Hoffa stood outside the Machus Red Fox restaurant in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, just north of Detroit, waiting for a meeting with two Mafia figures, New Jersey labor racketeer Anthony Provenzano, a capo in the Vito Genovese crime family, and Anthony Giacalone, a feared mobster with the Detroit underworld." (Dan E. Moldea)It is proven that Hoffa's last known location alive was the Machus Red Fox, a diner in the suburbs outside of Detroit, Michigan. This theory proves that Teamsters Union boss Jimmy Hoffa was at the diner location at the specific time on the day of his killing. It has also been proven that Mr. Hoffa was picked up in a red mercury Marquis and was then driven to the house, where he took his last breath. The sincerity in this, however, is that the car Hoffa was picked up in was owned by Anthony "Tony Jack" Giacolone, a renowned mob boss in the Detroit area.
Hoffa could have kept his enemy at bay only if he would stop his campaign to take back the IBT, who knows he might still be alive today, but he couldn't back off. On July 1975 after being stood up in Bloomfield Mi. Hoffa disappeared with two people one of those people was believed to be Tony Pro. Although some evidence suggests that a group of Teamsters from NJ were Tony was President of may have been part of the abduction and murder of Jimmy Hoffa. (son ’s; Baughman) With all the threats made by Tony, it’s hard to not see him as a suspect in Hoffa's
But the strange thing was that, both Provenzano and Giacalone weren’t even in Detroit. The most plausible theory is that Frank Sheeran, Hoffa’s best friend and also escort shot Hoffa in the house in north Detroit he was taken to. I think this theory is very reasonable because it has a good motive and evidence. When
With the death of Angelo Bruno and Stanfa in hiding and later imprisoned, a power vacuum was left with the Philadelphia crime family. The self-claimed boss, Philip “Chicken Man” Testa was murdered as well by a nail bomb infront of his home in 1981, and in the end, powerful Atlantic City captain Nicodemo “Little Nicky” Scarfo claimed victory as the new boss of Philadelphia. Scarfo brought a new and notorious regime at the top, as he allegedly ordered the murders of more than 30 people throughout his reign in the 1980s. He tried to gain more influence in New York with the five families through then-current Gambino crime family boss John Gotti but failed. Scarfo was soon indicted on massive charges and sent to prison for the rest of his life
The mafia was the most powerful criminal organization in the world. The reason for this belief was that Jack Ruby, the man who shot Oswald, had ties with the mafia. One of the reasons that the mafia could have had reason to murder the president was that his brother, Robert Kennedy, who was also the attorney general, had been acting quite aggressively against some of the mafia bosses. Robert also led a strong campaign against the mafia. Many believe that the mafia saw that getting rid of Kennedy would also get rid of his brother, since there would have to be a new administration after his death, and Robert would have to be replaced.
Sheeran told his biographer that he shot Hoffa. According to Charles Brandt, Sheeran betrayed Hoffa because of the “Dons” orders. If you read the book “ I Heard you Paint Houses”, a biography of Frank Sheeran’s life mentions a detailed section of his lethal plan. Sheeran lured Hoffa to a Detroit home in the suburban area, there he shot Hoffa in the back of the head. He left, while Brothers Thomas and Stephen Andreta stayed to clean up the bloody mess.
Since the assassination of John F. Kennedy (J.F.K), many conspiracy theories have evolved. More recently, conspiracists have sparked new interest in Kennedy’s death involving the supposed shooter, Lee Harvey Oswald. Focus has shifted to the belief that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) was also involved in the assassination of JFK. Many witnesses have come forward to say that there is no real possibility of Oswald being the lone gunman. Part of the JFK conspiracy is that the CIA was involved in the assassination and its cover-up as well.
Executive Summary: Oil prices have many effects across the U.S. economy that can have either negative or positive impacts. While an increase in oil prices helps energy companies by increasing their revenue and company stock value, a reduction in oil prices benefits other sectors such as production or manufacturing companies by reducing their operating costs. Investors, traders, and privately held companies usually purchase oil through the futures market, participating in hedging activities seeking profits on oil price changes. Depending on the investor’s stance and their predictions, oil prices in the future can be either below or above original prediction indicating a profit or a loss.
