Out of the 318.9 million people in America, 46.7 million of them living in poverty. That is 14% of the American population living a less than comfortable lifestyle. With poverty, people face many challenges. One of the major effects that poverty inflicts on a person, is poor health. This is caused by a person living within poverty’s lack of proper resources. A Pittsburgh Post-Gazette/Milwaukee Journal Sentinel analysis of data from the largest U.S. metropolitan areas has shown that people who are living in poor neighborhoods have a higher decrease in health than a person who is from a more stable economic neighborhood.
