Power Power is the ability to do something or act in a particular way, especially as a faculty or quality. Power is the a man made weapon designed to destroy man. Men have constantly been developing more powerful weapons since the dawn of time just to outclass one another and be on top. World wide tension is built on who has the most powerful weapon and who can build an even more powerful weapon next. In the wrong hands, power is catastrophic. When I think of power being used for the best, my mind doesn’t go to Politics or War, it goes to The Amazing Spider-Man. The whole Spider-Man character is built on one phrase: “With great power, comes great responsibility”. For more than 50 years that one phrase has compelled Spider-Man to do great things. He knew because he had the power to stop people from being hurt by wrongdoers. He had to use it for good, and he couldn’t let something like Uncle Ben’s death happen again. Having powers didn’t improve Peter’s life, it made it worse, he still gets bullied, but now his bullies have super powers. He still has relationship problems, but now he has to juggle relationships and a social life while saving New York from super villains and criminals. The most captivating thing about Spider-Man is that when he doubts his powers or wants an easier, normal life, he quits, only to come back out of guilt for letting his Uncle Die. He can’t be separated from his powers or guilt so he has to use power for good to drown out the guilt.
