ADI Lab How should the unknown organisms be classified? Using previous knowledge from tenth grade biology, we know the variation between plant and animal cells. The differences are within the organelles. Animal cells have centrioles, lysosomes.
From the data obtained in Tables 1-3, we were able to plot multiple graphs using excel. These graphs give a better representation of the data as seen in Figures 1-9. It can be seen that each figure shows a slight increase in CO2 production, which signifies a possible change in metabolic rate. Figures 4 and 7 show a relatively large change between the control and fox urine. The changes in slope between theses two are 0.0267 for Figure 4’s slopes and 0.0192 for Figure 7’s slopes.
The hypothesis for this experiment is that if daphnia are exposed to ethanol, aspirin,
• Write down the highlighted numbers. Do you observe a pattern? • Does the pattern grow? What is the reason for this? • Write down the last number (say 53).
Suppose you need to find the fractional European call and the fractional European put options. Let the Hurst parameter be $H=0.85$, the $\sigma=0,25$, $r=0.10$, $S_{fbm} = 100$, $K = 95$, we have \begin{eqnarray*} d_1^{fBm} & = & \frac{\ln{\frac{S}{K}} + \frac{1}{2}(r( T - t) + \frac{(1)\sigma^2{( T^{2H} - t^{2H})}}{2})}{\sigma{\sqrt{T^{2H} - t^{2H}}}}\\ & = & \frac{\ln(\frac{105}{100}) + (0.10(0.25 -0) + \frac{(1){0.25^2}{0.25^{2(0.85)} - (1)0.25^{2(0.85)}}}{2}}{(0.25){\sqrt{0.25^{2(0.85)} - 0}})} \end{eqnarray*} we obtain $d^{fBm}_1= 1.0558$. We find in the normal distribution that $N(1.0558)= 0.8544$ and $N(-1.0558) = 0.1456.$
The process for this portion of the experiment was identical for all fourteen replicates. Ten daphnia, all at age 3, were placed in beakers of water
Testing phase finds differences in positive/negative documents by the centroid obtained in training phase by ranking each of them. The simple way to estimate similarity between documents and centroid by summing weights of patterns which are in the documents. VII. Experimental Results To determine accurate measures of similarity or difference between documents you depict results by graph pattern and table pattern. The experimental setup consists of relevant documents that you termed as positive and negative documents .i.e
Name: Avishak Deb Roy Partners: Leevell Penn, Varugh, Butler Bio 101 Lab Report #1 02.22.2018 Swimming speed of paramecium tetraurelia in different levels of treatment. Introduction Paramecia is a unicellular Protista which are naturally found in aquatic habitats. It is easily cultured in the laboratory. It is oblong shaped and covered with short hairy structure called cilia. Paramecia does not pose any health or ethical concerns and the population can be maintained if there is a food source such as Enterobacter (Biological Foundation 7).
On day one no seeds germinated. By day two, seeds in the control group, 15% and 25% experimental groups had germinated. On day two the experimental group with 25% concentration of miracle gro’ had the most seeds
Unknown Lab Report Unknown # 25 By: Jenna Riordan March 19, 2018 Bio 2843 1. Introduction Microbiology is the study of microorganisms found in all different environments throughout Earth, from the hot thermal vents at the bottom of the ocean to the ice at the top of a mountain.
Gatorade Vs. Powerade Gatorade and Powerade are both energy drinks made to do the same thing supply athletes with more electrolytes. Gatorade is the original sports drink made first in 1965 while Powerade was later made just to rival Gatorade in 1988. For many other reasons than just being original Gatorade is better than Powerade. Let’s get into more depth about the two now.
The table seemed slightly imbalanced, and since the flies demonstrate a negative geotaxis, meaning that they resist gravity, the flies may have been influenced to choose one side over another simply by gravitational means. Another error that may have occurred could be the source of light. Though the lab group aimed to maintain an equal amount of light for all sides of the bottles, a vaguely estimated spot was determined and the choice chamber placed there. Since fruit flies also demonstrate a positive phototaxis, this also affects them. The last error that may have occurred due to tape.
The planula larva develops directly into the ephyra stage. The ephyra quickly grows into an adult
Joshua Miller 12/18/17 Fermentation Lab report Introduction The term fermentation refers to the chemical breakdown of a substance by bacteria, yeasts, or other microorganisms, typically involving effervescence and the giving off of heat (wikipedia). Sugars are converted to ethyl alcohol when fermentation happens. In this experiment we determined if yeast cells undergo fermentation when placed in a closed flask with no oxygen. Glucose and yeast are mixed together in a closed flask and allowed to incubate for about one hour.
Two of the same types of plants were used, in order for the results to be reliable. One of the plants was labelled DISTILLED whereas the other was ACIDIC, so the results don’t get mixed. The DISTILLED plant was used as a controlled variable, where normal spring water was used (pH 7.3) The ACIDIC plant was the one the experiment had taken place on, this was where lemon water was used (pH 2.0) Throughout the experiment pictures were taken, so one will be able to notice the colour change on the acidic plants, as it had started to slowly die. With both plants you are able to notice that they had both started to grow flowers, but more the spring watered plant than that on the lemon juice watered one. The results of the plant growth was recorded to we would be able to notice the amount it had grown, this would be the water compared to lemon juice.
