PER REPORTER: Ada said DHS has been involved with this family before but she is unsure if the case is still opened. However, she said her nine-month old granddaughter (Jasmine) passed away Friday and the corners told her it was because of her illnesses. Ada said Jasmine had shunts in her head, a small hole in her heart, a trachea, and was old feeding tubes. She said she is making this report because she feels like the child’s mother (Savannah) should be charged with neglect. She said while Jasmine was alive she had nurses in the home caring for her as secondary caretakers and she said the unknown nurse told her Jasmine had cradle cap for a while. She also mentioned that when Jonny came to help her he said he had to get up with the child at night to feed her and change her diaper. Ada said instead of Savannah showing her how to properly feed the child she left a note of hoe to do it in her car in a plastic bag, but she said she did not see the note and ended up feeding the child to much food. She said the child was not harmed as a result of her over feeding the child but she said this happened while she was taking the child to Jackson for her feeding tube. Ada also said Savannah has a man living with her named Dennis and she said he smokes; however, she is unsure if he ever smoked around the child before. She said she saw him the car smoking and she has found cigarette chunks on the floor and ashes on the remote in the home, but she said when she said something to Savannah about it she said he does not smoke around the child.
