It is with much excitement that I write to you to express my sincere interest in your program for my PGY1 residency. At the start of my residency process, I looked for programs that gave me a variety of experiences and allowed me to come out as a well-rounded residency trained pharmacist. I had the pleasure to meet with your current residents at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and spoke with Dr. Litten to learn more about the residency program. Her information and enthusiasm about New Hanover further strengthened my interest. She spoke with so much positivity that I instantly became more excited about pursuing a residency at New Hanover. I am very impressed with the variety of opportunities that would be afforded to me within your program and believe it would be a great place to build upon my knowledge and skills that will translate into top care for my future patients. …show more content…

I have paved my path through my experiences in the best way I could in order to grow in my knowledge, leadership, professionalism, and patient care. My experiences have provided me with the tools to become a great resident and future clinical pharmacist.
I know your program will give me the chance to continue to build myself as a rounded pharmacist as well as strengthen my foundation of knowledge I received through my education at UAMS.
My short term goals during residency are to, first and foremost, become a knowledgeable pharmacist that other healthcare professionals can look up to and utilize with confidence. through completion of a PGY1 residency that will build upon my knowledge and skills I was blessed to attain through my education at UAMS and through my experiences through pharmacy school. My goal is to become well rounded and more confident in my clinical knowledge in order to be well prepared for any setting, specifically that of ambulatory
