Prejudice is often viewed in a negative light but some can be made without malicious intent. Prejudice can have many definitions but we all have some form of prejudice based off of opinions and past experiences. It is based off of 3 components Affect (emotion), Behavior, and Cognition (beliefs) (Grand Canyon University. ,2009). Cognitive process is the act of thinking and remembering. For example if you cause harm to someone you experience cognitive dissonance, a thought relating to a decision made( Aronson, E., Wilson, T. D., & Akert, R. M. ,2013). We store information and without knowing it, will avoid doing it again if it was a bad experience. Stereotypes are beliefs or generalizations about the personal attributes of a group of people
