I work in the preschool classroom, SunKids, an inclusive program that has four peer model and 11 children with special needs. The child that I observed is a 3 year old girl, R, with a Down Syndrome. We were in the classroom ready to line up, after centers, and go to the playground. The playground is gated and there is grass and wood chips on the ground. There are also two rocks benches, four swings, and a playground set. Usually we stay 20 minutes in the playground. We left at 10:20 and start my observation with R. She needs one on one attention, and we take turns to stay close to her and watch her carefully. She also has a feeding tube that will be taken out very soon, for her improvement on eating solids.
