In his speech President Obama claims that more needs done about gun control in this country. The President supports his claim by giving very specific examples of mass shootings that have happened in this country such as Columbine, Newtown, and the shooting in the Aurora movie theater. He goes on to say that innocent lives could have been saved if there were more laws in place to prevent people who would use guns irresponsibly from obtaining a firearm. The President also mentions that people are shot everyday on the streets of Chicago and nothing has seemed to change.
