He did bring up aspects of replacement of the old constitution, the human rights and power separation with the living constitution with virtual unlimited powers. The charming nature and description of the progress he would adopt fell on the American ears and they did not have any doubt but to elect him. It is a change and the progress they were waiting. He also did view progress as a situation where the Americans had to forsake their ancient ways of doing things and adopt the renewed ways that were in line with a developmental agenda. It is evident that he did view the art of progression in a theoretical rather than a practical perspective. Replacement of constitution would bring even more chaos and confusion.
