Pride as vice is close to vanity. People could be accused of vanity if they placed themselves above the preachers and belittled them. Vanity has come to indicate an inflated sense of one’s status, or accomplishments, especially when it involves arrogance. Vanity promotes conflict, and enmity. Pride is the satisfaction that arises from having someone's self-image established, either directly through ourselves or indirectly through others for example, through one of our children or students. On one hand, pride is the most blinding and unforgivable sin, and on the other it is a point of self-realization.
