A sin many deal with daily provokes the toxic transgression of hypocrisy that rips at the seams of fellowships, friendships, and communities. Pride, like a stone thrown into a calm body of water, causes ripples and waves that ultimately shift the faith people hold in one another. the promotion of oneself above others gives rise to hypocrisy, or pretending to uphold standards that one cannot conform to by nature. A man of fraud lies, stumbles and deceives his friends. However, Jesus, in teaching the multitudes in His Sermon on the Mount, preached, "Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?" (Matthew 7:3). As Christ illustrates, those who possess pride become blind to their appearance
