Summary of privacy as an ethical issue in information technology There are basically two forces threaten in our privacy in information system. One is the development of information technology, with its boosted capacity for observation, storage, calculation, communication, and recovery. And another one is, and more deceptive threat, is the enlarged value of information in management. Information is progressively appreciated to policy makers; they want it even if obtaining it occupies another's privacy. The threat to privacy now is one that several of us don't fully raise. This breach would happen, mostly, though illegal access that would support an adversary to reveal, destruction the integrity of, and prevent the availability of data implemented to support the application of antitrust laws and decision-making operations. The risk of data gives and take, or the theft of backup tapes, is diminished by numerous steps. First is Physical security, like guards, security cameras and access badges help ensure there is no illegal access to component services. Illegal access to the system itself is addressed by network intrusion detection systems, malware detection and correction software and firewall log monitoring. To stop unauthorized use by organization workers, inspection logs are kept and tested at fixed intervals. Illegal use by a Federal worker will be dependent on strict penalties (Justice, 2007).
