Capital Punishment
According to the article “Death Penalty Statistics,” there have been 1,392 capital punishment deaths since 1976, there are currently 3,035 inmates on death row. This means that we haven’t put many people to death, which isn’t a good thing because having to house all the inmate and other expenses is a lot. Capital punishment has many benefits and should be used more widely. The benefits are more room in the prisons and a fix for overpopulation. Capital punishment also deters crime and prevents future crime. Finally the last benefit is closure for the families of the victims. So all in all, capital punishment has its benefits and should be used more.

Overpopulation is an epidemic which will only get worse as we repopulate, whether it’s in prisons or out, it’s a problem. Death penalty helps with that. Murder victims’ families deal with so much emotional instability and it eats at them for years and years. The families have to go through therapy and be medicated just to function on a daily basis. The fact that the murder gets to keep living and food and housing is nothing but an insult to the family of the victim. I get that the murderer’s family doesn’t want to let their family to be executed, but taking the life of another and sometimes getting parole and allowed to live outside like they were before and being able to commit more crimes is quite idiotic. Some people shouldn’t be allowed to walk outside again, let alone ever walk again.
