My Career
Being a Probation Officer does require you to be in a college. You must get a Bachelor’s degree. In order to get a Bachelor’s degree, you must be in a college for 4 years. One recommended college is Adler University. This university specials in Criminology and Criminal Justice, good for policeman-Probation Officers. There are many colleges for this job, this one just stood out the most to me.
There are many skills required to become a Probation Officer. One of these skills would include the ability to know when to communicate-written, verbal, and body language. For instance, Probation officers work with people who that convicted of doing a crime and that were sentenced to probation instead of jail time. Probation Officer’s work involves monitoring offenders, coordination rehabilitation services and arranging job training. The job hours and days required to work are determined by the Chief Probation Officer. Probation officers can work on days, nights, and weekends. Probation Officers usually work days but could work at night if told to. You can find a career for a Probation Officer in any city in the United States. I do not believe that there is a station in every city, but there is a Probation Officer in every city. Probation Officers work inside and outside, but I believe that they work more inside than they do outside. So unless they are out chasing the person that was put on probation or they are going to see the person on probation, they work inside.
There are many benefits for this job. One benefit would be that you get to play an important role in helping convicted criminals get back to society. Another benefit would be that there are plenty of opportunities to become a Probation Officer as long as you put in the work to do so. Then you can advance to better and higher ranked jobs as you progress. Eventually, This will lead to better pay, more control/power, and more companions to work with.
