Introduction

The aim of professional development in the creative industries assignment is to develop knowledge of current structures, practices within the creative industries and the ability to apply this to an own professional development plan.

During the progress of this assignment it will be explained how to release a piece of music effectively on digital formats. Consider the following ways of seeding the music into markets, communities’ free content versus the cost of marketing pay walled content.

The Major record labels are the greatest way to produce and release a record. One of the reasons is because the major record label it is a positive fact in music industry, the major record labels has a huge financial advantage, good connections and they have many artist signed on their record label, therefore the artists will be well know and successful commercial artist in the music business.
E.g. of major record labels: Sonic Music Entertainment, EMI Group, Warner Music
Group, and Universal Music Group
