STATEMENT OF INTENT My passion for science began at a young age, I have always wanted to be involved in studies that seek to explore topics that deal in health and disease, trying to understand the complexity of living organisms down to the cellular level especially those directly involved in health, illnesses and diseases. These living organisms referred to as Micro-organisms mainly because of their being microscopic in nature, have always been a source of fascination for me, and this ultimately led to me pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Microbiology. I wish very much to continue my education in the infectious disease field as a student in the Master of Public Health Program at a reputable public health school with a special concentration in the area of Global health so I can acquire research competencies and eventually gain more detailed understanding in the field of infectious diseases, since this will inspire me and prepare me to make the greatest possible contribution to critical infectious diseases issues as well as general public health challenges especially in Africa and the Tropics. Asides a Master’s in Public Health, I look forward to studying for a PhD in Global Health at some point in the future. I have also identified a Master’s program (Master of International Healthcare Management, Economics and Policy, Boconi, Italy) as a program I would also like to enroll for some time. These I believe, will put me in good stead to have a positive and significant impact in contributing to healthier populations and promoting health protection by initiating strategies, systems and policies that will be beneficial to my local and international
