Healthcare should be the right of everyone in the United States. Each person deserves to be taken care of health wise no matter their income bracket. This is ethically right. A universal healthcare system is the answer to this entire dilemma. Furthermore, the uninsured, under-insured, insured, or illegal immigrants will have equal health coverage under this system . However, rules and criteria should be implemented if people will have those rights. An example of rules and regulation will be co-payment. It should be enforced as one of the criteria because it would make sure care is available to those who actually need it. This will also prevent people from taking advantage of the system. For example, one of my employees I knew went to her physician because she needed a bandage for her finger. Her respond was “I have free insurance so why not”. Co-payment became enforced because workers goes for doctor visit when nothing is wrong. Two, employee bypass their primary doctor and go to the ER. Instead, workers should visit their primary doctor first, and have them run some test or have a referral to the ER. Moreover, there is now a charge of 75-100 dollars if you are not admitted to the ER. Three, if the employee were exploiting the system, their spouse were doing the same thing. Consequently, there is a 30 dollar charge per week for spouses to be on the policy. In return, their spouses use their own insurance now. Everyone should have rights to healthcare; nonetheless, rules and criteria should be applied for the above reasons.
