One billion people lack basic healthcare in the united states(Emily Burges), and 100 million people are pushed under the poverty line each year trying to access healthcare.(world health organizer) America should have free healthcare because lack of affordable health care causes poverty, many people can't afford healthcare, and it is a human right.
Lack of affordable health care can cause poverty. Many people who can afford health are taxed to pay for people who can't pay for health care. This takes money from the people who can't afford and now they cant pay for their own health care. The average doctor's visit cost 200 dollars many people can't pay 200 dollars for an check up. These people may be taxed to high. The leading cause of health problems today is chronic disease. Different people do have different health problems that do cost more than others. Some people may argue that healthcare is a privilege to united states citizens, but people need to fulfill their basic needs and have control of their own body and health.(world health organization) The right to health care includes access to timely, acceptable, and affordable health care.(World health organizer) Everyone should be equal treated, so everyone should have access to health care not just people who have money to access it. Many people go bankrupt due to medical bills and trying to access healthcare. People should not go bankrupt trying to get health care.
In conclusion health care causes poverty because of taxes, different health problems, and it's to expensive. Most people can't afford healthcare and are going bankrupt. Health care is a right because its a basic need,everyone should be equally treated, and people go through financial hardship.
