America! We know that there is no better place than the US of A. No country comes close to its greatness. America has achieved things once thought impossible, conquered many nations, and won half of the wars that they had no reason to get involved in. It is quite simply the best thing in the history of anything ever, right? However, this god-like nation has a huge cultural effect on smaller nations like Australia. Some countries such as South Korea and Japan have openly accepted American culture, but they manage to maintain a healthy balance with their own culture. There are plenty of things to love about America, but do we want it to take over and mask our Australian identity? Today I will be arguing against the Americanisation of our Australia. But guess which country dominates it. Yep, America. As a frequent user of the Internet, this form of Americanisation annoys me the most. The majority of Internet users are American which ends up spreading American culture not just in Australia, but all around the world. It makes me want to flip a couple of tables at the mere mention of pounds or feet. I probably would have never heard of Wal-Mart if there were less Americans online. They are influencing people's spelling, views and opinions through just simple text. Words such as 'mom' or 'color' are just a few examples of what they spell differently. And an example for views and opinions is that all Muslims being terrorists is common belief among Americans and this has already changed the way Australians view them, even though it's false. This isn't good because quite frankly, Americans aren't the brightest of people in the world as proven by the comment sections on YouTube. We don't want them filling our minds with crap like that,
