When thinking about nuclear energy, or radiation, even dangerous places of radiation Chernobyl might come to mind. Chernobyl is known as one of the most dangerous places on earth because of the amount of radiation that will still be in the air for a very very long time. As scary as the accident at Chernobyl brought people together and helped build some things to contain the radiation, but things are still very bad and scary. Chernobyl has had its pros and cons like a pro is that it helped the world come together and help support the disaster as much as they can. There is only a couple of pros and many cons to this accident.
Chernobyl caused more people to come together and better themselves. The accident woke people up to the dangers of nuclear energy that it can cause. Countries worldwide realise the possible dangers of nuclear radiation and caused them to be checked more often, and be better built. This sarcophagus is being used to keep the radiation somewhat contained until they are fully ready to come up with a better idea to fix the radiation. The cleanup for Chernobyl impacted the world because of how long it took to complete it with all the people that helped and all the tragic deaths from the radiation. The cleanup job has been going on for over two decades and many people have died because of the radiation poison in the air around the cleanup but ultimately placed the sarcophagus over the reactor Nov. 29, 2016 over 30 years and 7 months after the explosion and is taller than the statue of liberty and wider than the wembley stadium. The sarcophagus is meant to help people try to fully clean the site of Chernobyl and repopulate the area radiation
