I agree almost completely with J. Robert Oppenheimer and his speech to the Association of Los Alamos Scientist. Robert speaks about the atomic bomb and how it was a great invention but with horrible consequences. My old friend Abraham Flex offered me a position on my terms of course in a newly funded institute for advanced studies in Princeton, where I made my most regrettable invention I have ever made. I made an atomic bomb which Robert talks about being destructive and an invention that could have never been stopped. Robert explains this by talking about secrecy and how this is only one of many where these inventions were kept secret because of their dangerous ability and so they could be massed produced.
The United States should have dropped the atomic bomb because it was a way to show the Soviet Union and the whole world of what they are capable of. According to President Truman, the atomic bomb is very destructive. It caused a 60 feet steel tower to crumble and knocked
At approximately 8:15 am on August 6th, 1945 an American B-29 bomber dropped an Atomic bomb called the Enola Gay under the commanded of former vice president and now president after the death of Roosevelt, on the Japanese city of Hiroshima, instantly killing around 80,000 people. Three days later the second Atomic bomb is dropped on another city of Japan, Nagasaki causes the deaths of 40,000 more. Consequently the Atomic Bomb killed relatively 100,000 more people that died a slow and painful death days after the explosions. Even though the atomic bomb being dropped saved more lives than if the US would have invaded Japan, because the Japanese soldiers don't surrender. , the atomic bomb should have not been dropped for moral reasons because
Ten days later, a formal warning was issued to the Japanese. The message consisted of a call to disarm and surrender or else face quick and mass destruction. Japan felt they could not accept the terms they were given in the Potsdam Proclamation. The proclamation was the list of defining terms calling for Japan to surrender. Later on, Americans concluded that for Japan to surrender, the bomb must be used.
Everyone have different opinions towards the atomic bomb being dropped by the U.S. Some people think that this wasn’t a good idea, but others feel that it was necessary. Dropping the atomic bomb was revenge from when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. It was only fair that we bombed them in return. It may have killed a lot of people, but they killed a lot of our people as well.
Should we have dropped The Atomic Bomb? The majority of the people would say yes but the other disagree with what we had done during that time. Yes, we should have bomb them because they killed so many people when they bombed pearl harbor. I feel pity for bombing them only because we killed 80,000 people when it happened.
The atomic bomb is a weapon of mass destruction that was tested successfully on July 16, 1945. Nuclear weapons caused many doors to be opened in the weaponry industry that could cause many international incidents or even a nuclear war. On August 6th and 9th of 1945, the 33rd president, Harry Truman, ordered two atomic bombs to be dropped on Japan as an effort to weaken the country to lead to its surrender, and the operation was successful. While the attack led to the Allied powers winning the war, debates started popping up all over the country and even the world questioning if the atomic bombing was necessary. Based on my interpretation of the evidence provided to me, I believe that the use of the atomic bomb was not justified because of the
Even with the research and studying the energy used to make the bomb, the people working on them were at great risks. The bomb was not only harmful to scientists when it was being made, but also when it was detonated. There was no way to defend a country from an atomic bomb. The bomb itself was more than 2000 times more powerful than a bomb the British bomb, "Grand Slam".
Opinion Atomic Bomb Paper - Unassisted Have you ever heard of the atomic bomb? Are you for or against it? Well, in my opinion I'm for the atomic bomb. I'm for it because of how the war started, the loss of Americans, and how the Race for nuclear bombs by other countries.
Dropping the Atomic Bomb The debate of whether or not the U.S. should've dropped the atomic bomb is a popular one. There are many different perspectives that are researched and made. Based on the information I have read, I feel that the dropping of the atomic bomb was unnecessary and caused more harm rather than good. One main factor when it comes to the decision of dropping the bomb is how destructive it really is.
This fact would be devastating for whoever the bomb was dropped on, and would set their civilization, infrastructure, and society back many years. Although the atomic bomb comes with negatives, it also comes with very many positives. From the Atomic Heritage Foundation, “The bombs were necessary in order to save American lives and prevent an invasion that might have cost many more lives than the bombs took.” (Atomic Heritage Foundation). The bombs were dropped in order to prevent the loss of American and allied soldiers.
The use of the atomic bomb in World War II was a horrifying site. Although the use of the first bomb on Hiroshima may be justified the use of the second bomb on Nagasaki was not. The use of the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima was a necessary step towards winning the war with Japan. The dropping of this bomb saved many American lives that would have most likely been lost in the war effort had we decided not to use the atomic bomb.
Military leaders and government officials saw the atomic bomb as means of ending the war. They speculated that the dropping of the bomb would destroy their infrastructure and deteriorate Japan’s military forces. Even though many military leaders and government officials preferred the use of the bomb, scientists were not so enthusiastic to explore its use. Scientist thought with the introduction of the atomic bomb would bring later wars that involved atomic warfare. Regardless, it was not their choice on dropping the atomic bomb it was President Harry S. Truman.
World War 2 was coming to a close when the decision was made to drop the atomic bomb. The war was over in Europe, and almost over in Japan. There were justifications for the use the nuclear weapon, but they were for the most part either false or outweighed by the negatives. The US should not have dropped the atomic bomb on Japan. The war with Japan was already coming to a close, making the atomic bomb drop pointless.
I think the United States should have not dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki because the atomic bombs was too expensive and it was not really worth it, they wiped out two entire cities, and Japan was planning on surrendering. The atomic bomb they used on Nagasaki cost 2 billion
