Truman did not utilize his power well while faced with the decision to drop the bomb. This is because there were other ways to solve the problem, and it was savage and brutal. The relationship between Japan and America will never be the same. It was so inhumane to drop the bomb.
On August 6, 1945 the United States dropped an Atomic bomb called the Little Boy on Hiroshima in Japan. A few days later the united states dropped another atomic bomb called the Fat man on the city of Nagasaki. The dropping of an atomic bomb in Hiroshima and Nagasaki ended the wars quickly, as Japan saw the devastating effects it had on their people and country. The decision to drop the bomb was a very hard one to agree on but changed lives for others. There are many pros and cons of the atomic bombs.
At approximately 8:15 am on August 6th, 1945 an American B-29 bomber dropped an Atomic bomb called the Enola Gay under the commanded of former vice president and now president after the death of Roosevelt, on the Japanese city of Hiroshima, instantly killing around 80,000 people. Three days later the second Atomic bomb is dropped on another city of Japan, Nagasaki causes the deaths of 40,000 more. Consequently the Atomic Bomb killed relatively 100,000 more people that died a slow and painful death days after the explosions. On August 6, 1945 the U.S. dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan. On August 9, the second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan. As of today, the United States Government made the right decision about having dropped the atomic bombs on Japan because it caused the total surrender of Japan, it saved civilian lives, and it kept the peace balanced across the allies. On August 15, 1945 just 6 days after the second bomb was dropped the japanese announced their total surrender and on September 2, the instrument of surrender was signed.
The Atomic bomb was part of the Manhattan project. The reason why they dropped the atomic bomb was to end World II it ended the war. However, it only started the cold war. The bomb was going to be made to defeat the Nazis but, by the time the bomb was tested the Nazis were already defeated. The United states of America was the first country to make and drop an atomic bomb.
Should we have dropped The Atomic Bomb? The majority of the people would say yes but the other disagree with what we had done during that time. Yes, we should have bomb them because they killed so many people when they bombed pearl harbor. I feel pity for bombing them only because we killed 80,000 people when it happened.

On December 7, 1941 Hitler declares war on the United States, and Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. Creating a war that was now being fought in the Pacific, Atlantic, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia. In an attempt to defend themselves the United States sent a message by sending their first atomic bomb on August 6, 1945 to Hiroshima and three days later in Nagasaki destroying their industrial cities. The devastation created by this bomb was a new threat that no one had seen before.
A treacherous race of terror started soon after the decision was materialized. Some critics are of the opinion that Japanese were ready to surrender and that the decision of dropping atomic bombs was utterly pointless. Militarists view it as discrimination on the basis of ethnicity as no such violent act has ever been committed against white people. On the other hand, the diplomats of America had clandestine objectives. In order to contain the Soviets, the atomic bomb was used to deliver a message that they should not underestimate the Americans, who are capable of defending themselves and can go to any extent in order to preserve their sovereignty.

If you were the president of the United States during a war, and the opposing forces were talking of surrender, would you not jump on even the possibility to negotiate surrender? Would you give them their one condition they ask for and then proceed to kill around 180,000 civilians then give them that one condition to make peace? The answer to both of those questions is no. Although I do believe that ending the war sooner and avoiding invasion is a must, there were other options that in my opinion would have worked as well. The USA did NOT have to drop the Atomic Bomb.
If I had the atomic bomb, I wouldn’t have used it. I would have kept it in a safe area with bolted locks and maximized security to ensure that the bomb would not fall into the wrong hands. There’s really no way to ensure the safety of others with this dangerous weapon because of the mass destruction that it can cause. So, knowing its capability for destruction and the forces of the Axes, I would have never funded the development of the atomic bomb to begin with.
