Polk's presidency (A forgotten one) has impacted America in a variety of positive ways because Polk was determined and a workaholic. President Polk, considered one of the “higher quality” presidencies has been long forgotten for no apparent reason. President James Polk, who favored the Manifest Destiny, would choose to take another route. In fact, he might focus on a negotiation with the Mexican government, in which he would offer the protection from European countries, the help in building up a stable government, and the establishment of a strong relationship between two countries in exchange for the annexation of Texas and the area of California and New Mexico. Anyone from Arizona knows all too well the controversy that is attached with that name. Recently, President Trump pardoned Sheriff Joe Arpaio and the controversy is once again causing a whirlwind of opinions. Although the presidential pardon is a privilege that comes with being in office, the pardoning of Sheriff Joe Arpaio by President Trump was unethical and an abuse of power.
If trump gets elected into presidency his primary goal is to deport 11 million immigrant families that live on the U.S. Im not sure if he is talking about non US citizens or families that have expiring visas. He spoke them being forced out of their homes, jobs, and schools by the police at anytime. If he succeeds-which he won’t; there will be billions of dollars gone for his selfish request to supposedly “make America great again” but its people like him that make America what it is today . We as a nation are in debt for billion of dollars as it is , so if he is elected to be president then us as a nation are basically going in a downward spiral because we already owe trillions of dollars.

All the states except one, Rhode Island, signed the Constitution of the United States. The Constitution was ratified in 1781. It was needed because it had made America’s Government, set basic laws, and had some important rights that it granted for its citizens . The Articles of Confederation was America’s first governing document, it was very weak and gave the states to much power and allowed them to act independently. In the Articles of Confederation gave Congress way to much power but since the states were so free it could not enforce anything.
The Constitution was created in response to the inadequacies of the Articles of Confederation. While almost all would agree the Articles were a failure and needed replacing there was much debate on what should replace them. There were two sides to this debate. On one side stood the Federalists who believed that a strong centralized government was necessary to avoid anarchy. On the other side stood the anti-federalists who were concerned about the government becoming too powerful and infringing on the rights of the people.
The late 17th century was a time of radical transformations and floods of independence. As the United States developed, a government that suited the needs of its citizens was imperative for the success and flourish of the new nation. The Constitution surfaced as a document to placate those dissatisfied by the distasteful Articles of Confederation. The numerous conciliations and adaptations composing the document have led to the term “bundle of compromises.” The ever-changing nature of the Constitution has resulted in it being considered a “living document” in the present day.
It’s that time again, election time! Time for both Democrats and Republicans to debate and campaign for what they believe and stand for. This can bring up a lot of serious issues that both parties have different views on. Everybody has a different opinion and some believe that the Republican party has offended minorities in America, Latino’s, homosexuals, women, etc. There is a reason for this and not just an offensive generalization.
Illegal immigrants should be allowed to stay in the U.S.A. and become citizens because they are heavy workers, want a better life and most importantly they contribute to the U.S. economy. Immigrants simply want to obtain an opportunity to live and work in this great country. With all this in mind it is clear that they deserve a path to citizenship. Countless people say illegal immigrants are damaging the U.S. economy; however, they are contributing immensely by paying their taxes.
