Others might say that segregation shows that one race should be inferior, but segregation is wrong because people united together are stronger. The hatred of whites motivated them to separate African Americans. For instance, “When the black students, known as the “Little Rock Nine,” attempted to enter Central HIgh School, the segregationists threatened to hold protests and physically block the students from entering the school (source B).” In simpler terms, these black students were excluded from the school for their color differences. In consequence, segregationists’ threats caused the Little Rock Nine to be escorted to the school through a back door.
Separation is a serious force for most people. Many believe that it always causes loneliness and depression in people. However, this is not always true, because there may be times when people can learn to cope with separation in various situations. These situations range from a mother leaving her kids in daycare and going through a divorce, to moving to a new place and learning to settle in. Regardless of the circumstances, people should always learn how to cope with separation and survive independently.
Segregation was when one racial group set themselves apart from another racial group. Segregation took many different forms: restrooms, schools, waiting rooms, theaters, taverns, buses, and other public places. There are many stories and articles of the injustices caused by segregation; perhaps the most angering, however, is what was underwent by the Little Rock Nine when they attended school at Little Rock Senior High School. Along with not being let into the school until nineteen days into the school year and having to get the president with the U.S Army’s 101st Airborne Division involved, the Little Rock Nine all experienced “routine harassment” as they later described it. Most of the students attending the school at the time were extremely opposed to the idea of integrating with the black students and wanted to continue the schooling with segregation.
When reading the Of Mice and Men you could clearly see many examples of segregation, for example, in gender, you could see that they are in a man’s world and people like Curley’s wife weren’t trusted, or were segregated. Your race is also another way that people are being segregated, Crooks, for example, can’t go to the stable room with someone else only by himself. After examining the book, I concluded with the theme segregation. In the fictional Ethan Frome book, people were being separated from the technology of that time. The main characters are isolated from those clean and advance innovative products that are available in popularized places.
Should the brothers be separated because they have no mom or dad, even though they try so hard to stay together? The people in the system are wanting to separate the Curtis boys. I think that even though they have no parents, to me the brothers should stay together like all families should. The 1960s era was quite the controversial time, debating between if segregation was the way to go or the complete opposite, integration. African Americans during this time were fighting for equality and acceptance in their communities. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 specifically outlaws any discrimination, this meaning :race, color, religion, sex, and etc. In a community, working together brings unity and equality in the environment. Malcolm X thought segregation was the path to follow, but separate doesn’t mean equal.
Segregation has unfortunately been a large part of not only United States, but also World History. In the late 1800s to mid 1900s, the United States was gripped with the segregation of the supposed superior White Americans and the despised African Americans. Also, around the same time period, the pure Germans held prejudice against the Jewish race. These are just two examples of many cases of segregation in the world; some still happening today. Segregation is profound, crooked, and unfair.
I have been and I still am involved in many personal relationships in my life, whether it’s with my family, my friends, or a significant other. Within all of my relationships, I have experienced the dialectical tensions of integration, separation, stability, change, expression, and privacy. However, I wasn’t aware that what I was exhibiting was legitimized in a theory. My experiences with these dialectical tensions have ranged from one end of the spectrum to the other. I read somewhere that as individuals become closer, more conflicting tensions will emerge.

A Monster Calls highlights the isolation of Conor O’Malley from his terminally ill mother and his peers, and how he pushes them further away with his numerous attempts to be noticed. After the diagnosis of Conor’s mother becomes known by students at his school, students begin avoiding Conor in fear of upsetting or angering him; this is expressed by Harry, the main antagonist of the novel, who says “But do you know what I see when I look at you, O’Malley?... I see nothing” (152) when confronted by Conor. Due to this, Conor initiates a fight with Harry because he believes that after the fight, he will never be ignored again. This is an extremely rash decision that will result in the further isolation of Conor, for he will be feared by his peers,
Segregation is a bad thing and it can lead to many severe consequences like, having it as a daily basis and getting used to it which can cause change if it lasts for a long time. Segregation was seen in a daily bases and they had some rights taken away back in those times. For example, when they were trying to go to work or travel, they had to sit in the back of the bus and they weren’t allowed to sit in the front. This proves that they were judged based on small thing and they had to obey the law.
“Are outsiders simply those who are misjudged or misunderstood?” When presented with this question, I immediately formed my opinion. This immediate reaction was most likely formed from the defensiveness I have allowed myself to have towards varying subjects. As my mother always says, “past predicts future.” I understand the argument of people who are “outsiders” are misjudged.
Segregation was one of the key problems during most of the 1900s. Segregation is the enforced separation of different racial groups in a country, community, or establishment. Around the time when the the Civil War ended, slavery and segregation had been prohibited from the amendments of the U.S Constitution. Segregation was very wrong, because whites believed it was fair and equal. It was most definitely not.
