The 3 Branches

All of the branches have their pros and cons with what they are allowed to do concerning all of them. With there being 3 branches with all the power split up, not one branch overpowers the others. Checks and balances are the main reason for the balance among branches. With this system in effect, it causes strengths and weaknesses in all of the branches to even the responsibilities of what they are and isn't allowed to do. Each branch does have its special perks that can make one better than the other depending on what you see best. I believe the legislative branch is the best because they have the power to create laws and to influence the decisions of the other branches.

The Judicial branch consists of the U.S. Supreme Court and the Federal Judicial Center. This branch deals a lot with disputes including federal, civil, and state disputes. The U.S. The Supreme Court is the higher court a case can be taken to in the US. The Supreme Court website states, “The Court is the highest tribunal in the Nation for all cases and controversies arising under the Constitution or the laws of the United States. As the final arbiter of the law, the Court is charged with ensuring the American people the promise of equal justice under the law and, thereby, also functions as guardian and interpreter of the Constitution (About the Supreme Court). One of the biggest strengths of the Judicial branch is the power of judicial review. Judicial review is where if they see a law as unconstitutional they can nullify it. This power also grants them the ability to declare any act from the Legislative or Executive branch a violation of the Constitution. Although they have some strong powers they are not able to make any laws, and that's the biggest downside. They are also only allowed to act upon cases brought before the supreme court. But the judicial branch has lots of checks and balances to keep the court system in check. The president is the main one who keeps the judicial branch in check since he has the power to nominate new judges. The legislative branch has the power to disapprove the nominations for the supreme court so they influence who goes on the stands.
