From the first time we were born we were learning and growing. Our brains developed and absorbed everything around us. From what we saw to what we heard. We learned from what our care givers taught us. This learning is with nature and nurture. Nature is the genetics that determine the outcome of a person. Nurture is the environment that determine the outcome of a person. The nature vs nurture debate is a debate about whether a person develops into the person that they are by their DNA, nature or by the influences around them, nurture. This debate has been going on for decades and both sides have very strong points. People who believe that we are the person we are because of nature believe that we inherited the genes. They believe that our genes determine who we are as an individual. People on the opposite side of the debate believe that individuals develop by the people and environment around them. I would be there for them no matter what and would always want them to be open with me and not fearful to tell me how they are feeling. I would want them to feel comfortable to come and talk to me about anything and not have to worry that I would in any way judge or scrutinize them. I however would also discipline my child if they were in the wrong. I would not use physical punishment, although when they are young I would slap them on the butt for misbehaving. I would discuss with them why their behavior was unacceptable and punish them by taking away a toy, video game, or something that the value to show that there are consequences for their actions. I would send my child into time out so they think about what they have done. This would start a foundation for the child for when they are not around me. They would know how to react around other adults and know right from wrong. Also it would provide them with skills to learn from their
