Abstract
When it comes to military training there are two different ways to train soldiers the operant or classical way. The operant way is where soldiers are trained but are not rewarded for completing something, and this is the method our military currently uses. The other method is classical in which a solider is trained, but gets a treat once completed the task. When it comes to these two methods there are always different viewpoints, such as the positives of using the two different types of training. These two different types of training have been used throughout history to train soldiers in the military. As operant is a more harsh way of training a soldier, but it still has its pros and cons. Classical conditioning is a nicer way of training more soldiers to complete their tasks but also has its pros and cons. As both of these types of trainings put soliders under intense mindset challenges as they both and used to change a soldier's mindset into the mindset of a soldier ready to battle. An article states, “ who reacts to external and internal changes of not only by separate parts of his/her psyche (mental processes, states, features) but as a single whole mediating his/her actions, deeds, behavior, attitudes by personal features” (Zinchenko, Veraksa, Leonov, 2011, p.59). As these two types of training change a soldier's mental aspects to ready them for the battlefield it also leads to them not being able to return to normal life as they have been turned into killing machines. As this is a major problem causing soldiers not to be able to return to society, but they both can be used as effective training types for soldiers.
