The most difficult thing that psychologists run into when making sure a research project is accurate, is making sure the test remains unbiased and ambiguous. In reality, most people tend to choose their own groups simply by doing what they would do anyway. Some people feel a compulsion to respond to a text or answer a phone call, and in extreme situations, searches or games. Although this is extremely dangerous, most of the information we have about this subject is from laboratory experiments, and the participants are all volunteers which further adds to the level of bias present in the research.
Although it may be impossible to get a perfectly accurate experiment, in order to have the most precise experiment possible, the control group and the experimental group must be balanced and unbiased before the test begins. If the two groups are set up correctly, then the results of the experiment should be accurate and not biased towards either group. This means that the real life habits of the cell

As far as testing whether using cell phone while driving is dangerous goes, it is important to make sure that the research participants do not sort themselves into groups. If the participants are given the option of choosing their own groups, it is highly likely that they will choose the group with which they are most comfortable, which creates partiality in the experiment. Rather than allowing participants to choose, the experimenters should assign them into groups using a random algorithm. This method would not account for cultural differences between drivers or the skill level of each participant, but it would ensure that each group had a diverse selection of participants. It would also create a way for the researcher to assign participants into groups without allowing his or her own preconceived notions or subconscious motives affect the outcome of the
