INTRODUCTION
Leadership in any community, organization, business, country, continent or even the around the globe is a necessity not just a nice to have to steer or drive that body towards a certain direction or a common goal. This is why you find CEO, presidents, continental and universal bodies such as United Nations to support the sovereign state goals. The leaders have 4 different styles depending on the individual needs, which are directive style, coaching style, supporting style and lastly delegation style (Carpenter, et. al. 2009. p 237). This theory fits with my personal style because I understand the differences between people and I will be able to select the best style for each of the follower lead and develop them to be fully fledged workers and even future leaders. I am one of those people who always encourage my friends or colleagues to better their lives either by changing their lifestyle or bad financial habits or up-skilling themselves, therefore I will be able to direct, coach support and delegate to the fellow followers when I implement the Situational Leadership Theory.
2. SERVANT LEADERSHIP
- Pros of servant leader aim are to support, encourage, and develop their followers to reach their full potential. They are more likely to be in involved in the democratic or participatory decision making which is more favored by the followers. They would create people-orientated cultures that treat people with dignity.
- Cons could create a dependence syndrome and mentality of entitlement, where followers instead of developing they would expect things to be given to them without any effort to acquire them. Leaders can also over-extend their giving abilities, thereby risking …show more content…

The theory has four leadership styles – directive, supportive, participative and achievement-orientated styles (Baur, T., & Erdogan, B.). I am of the view that this theory fits my personality because I have internal locus of control, high self-esteem and a good general mental abilities. I don’t believe in stable culture that is characterized by predictability, rules and bureaucracy. I thrive in an environment that is flexible, innovative, supportive, encouraging, respect for individual opinions and of cause rewarded for what I have achieved.
