MHHS Parking Spot Painting Controversy September 19, Mountain Home High School began experiencing issues with a fundraising campaign allowing students to paint their parking spaces after a “#blacklivesmatter” portrait was produced. Students began doing a sit-in in the MHHS parking lot after complaints were filed under a mural dedicated to black lives matter was produced in the parking lot. Students have been sitting throughout the school day and even after, protesting the hate against the picture. Because of MHHS allowing for a prohibited fundraiser to take place, students are now disregarding their educations in an effort to shed some light on the situation being presented.
The PolyMet construction will not only build energy but it will process a damaging environment. More animals will become endangered and threatened. The land of many lakes and rivers will eventually be polluted to the point of poison. Also the acid and waste will cause human health issues like cancer. The discussion on having the Polymet may have a positive factor to the environment, but I strongly believe that it will have a negative outcome.
In Jackson's Bank Veto Message, he states that his principal reason for his veto was that he wanted to prevent the existence of monopolies. This is a fine reasoning that also goes along with is political views. The objection to this is that he was warned on how it would be detrimental to the United States economy but still went through with it. It cannot be overlooked that he had to fire two different secretaries until he finally appointed a close friend to agree with him. This is an obvious abuse of power, seeing as he fired two people simply for telling him that his idea would not work.
As mentioned that the ultimate motive for Jackson was the National Bank. Jackson believed that the bank was evil like a “monster” for several reasons. Some of those reasons being that the
Jackson idolizes this system and cherry picked for his cabinet and this quickly led to corruption within the government. He openly appointed people to federal positions based on merit if they had previously campaigned for him and assisted in his political career. Anyone who was not a loyal Jacksonian Democrat was fired and quickly replaced by one of his followers. Jackson also believed in a system of rotation in office. To allow the maximum number of Democrats in office he would limit the tenure to just one term and then appoint another deserving Democrat as a replacement.
Citizens of the United States were more thankful to Jackson than the citizens of New Orleans were, and Jackson would soon begin touring the country to accept the accolades of a thankful nation. While on one of these tours, Jackson started hearing rumors about the Seminole Indians bombarding settlements in
In the other hand, Jackson
With MCC claiming ….. that the 2017/2018 intake will not exceed 10.000 members, this mean that only 4.3% are able to access befits of the club . A better use of the membership base would be to break away from the brand identification of prestige and reward loyalty rather than excluding a waiting list of over 230,000 (Hoye, et al., 2018) .This would improve equity and inclusiveness with in the club. However comparison between AFL’s membership…………….
In the end, it is my belief that Jackson has to be looked at from a non-biased perspective. As Sellers pointed out, interpretations that Whigs and Progressives have about him are not wrong. There is just a need for more information on the topic. As Sellers pointed out at the end, the Jackson era is filled with controversy and the multiple viewpoints from historians “suggests that we are poor in the data by which our hypotheses must be
In January 1891, Olmsted went to visit Jackson park to attempt at planning a renovation. Jackson park was a more than six-hundred-acre, desolate swamp with an ugly and overgrown landscape. Most of the plant life was dead and roots of trees were badly damaged. “Test borings showed that the earth within the park consisted of a top layer of black soil about one foot thick, followed by two feet of sand, then eleven feet of sand so saturated with water, Burnham wrote, “it became almost like quicksand and was often given this name.” (Larson 95)
Jackson’s fighting force was a disparate assortment that included “militia, volunteers, free men of color, Indians, and pirates,” as Mike Scott (2017) explains. The British Soldiers, on the other hand, were “better-equipped” and “better-trained,” not to mention there more of them. However, due to what seems to be the cause of leadership and fighting drive, as well as tactical errors on the part of the British, Jackson won the battle. Among the other reasons, luck seemed
Coming into the courtroom I believe Jackson was a vicious president who just wanted to kill to get his way, but in the trial, I came to the consensus that Jackson isn’t always that angry old man people perceive him to be. Sure, he’s killed many people and could’ve possibly led to many more deaths, but his crimes against humanities was never fully brought to light. I believed, that prosecution proved that he was an immoral, violent and at times vicious president, but they never proved he committed a large enough crime to affect humanity. In the opening statements, prosecution called Jackson a president that failed to do his job.
When repairs are needed, they can be made quickly to minimize traffic disruption. Routine maintenance is also fast, allowing the area to be reopened in a matter of hours instead of days. Furthermore, when it comes to building a new parking lot or thoroughfare, asphalt pavement takes only a fraction of the time required for concrete pavement. Despite its durability, asphalt pavement needs a little care if it is to reach its full lifespan. Property owners in Austin should consider having the following services routinely provided by an asphalt
Another reason why Jackson was a villain is because he is responsible for what happened to the Native Americans. Due to his Indian Removal Act and his defiance
These highlighted such features as obstructions, existing pipelines and conservation areas. Taking the results of these studies into consideration the most direct pipeline route was used in order to minimize any impact on marine life. An additional reason for choosing the shortest route was to minimize the possibility of rupture which can cause severe environmental damage. Pipes were laid parallel to existing pipes if possible in order to produce less of an environmental impact and risk to other potential seabed users. Although it was preferable to avoid pipeline burial due to the length of time it can take for re-colonisation by marine species it was considered necessary to bury Pipeline A. Pipes A and B are both made of high quality corrosion resistant material, able to withstand high pressure and will be protected against upheaval buckling in order to avoid pipeline rupture which may result in oil spills.
